Family Reunion

This summer, for a few days in June, I will be headed to a family reunion in St. Louis, MO. I will be surrounded by professional athletes once again. If you didn't know, my entire family is full of NFL players and tracks stars (minus yours truly). Those athletes aren't even the most important people in the family. The real MVP is my dad's cousin, Larry Thompson, the Deputy Attorney General of THE United States of America. I have no idea how I am going to cope with the fact that I will be in a room surrounded by VIP's. Even my own dad is beginning to pressure me to succeed and live up to my "potential". At the moment, I'm just working on starting at Wide Receiver next year here at the Bay. This obviously was not a problem at all for any of my family members. The last reunion I went to was in Minnesota and I had a great time, even though it was hard talking to people I barely knew. This year, I'm more worried about being able to impress my family members than to make conversation. At the bottom of the page is some of my more well-known family members.

Jackie Robinson (Duh, get black history in your life)
Eric Robinson (My dad, several years in the NFL and USFL, star tailback for the Indiana State Sycamores and later, the Washington Federals. Still holds most rushing records at ISU.)
Mark Robinson (My dad's brother, starring strong safety at Penn State under Joe Paterno. Went on to become one of the best defensive backs in Tampa Bay Bucanneer history)
Bryan Robinson (Currently playing Defensive End for the Arizona Cardinals. Key player on their Super Bowl defensive squad.)
Koren Robinson (Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver with legal trouble in the past. Don't ask.)
Dunta Robinson (Defensive Back for the Houston Texans. No law trouble here.)

Those are just the most famous NFL players. You probably don't even know the rest but they are there.

No Pressure, huh?

  1. Wow Collin! Your family is stacked. I can't even imagine going to a family reunion and seeing so many highly recognizable people. If I were you I wouldn't worry about impressing any of them. As a matter of fact I would try to learn as much as I could. There will be a lot of NFL talent at that BBQ and I would definitely take advantage of it and try to pick up a thing or too.
