Goodbye

This is the conclusion to my blog. I hope you have enjoyed previous posts. By this time, I believe that my writing has improved drastically and I think I am that much better of a student than before. I hope that I am able to incorporate what I've learned in this class in future schooling so that I can find the perfect college. Right now, I am about to delete that last post because someone is pushing my buttons. I'll finish this up tomorrow...

Things Are Looking Up

Today was good day, what's up to Ice Cube. The sun might actually be coming out. My leg feels a lot better, I can tell I'm close to being healthy again. With the help of my two I's (ibuprofen and ice), I'll be back to football so I can have an outlet for my stress again. Things are going pretty damn well with Victoria. Even though her dad and her brother are still trippin (hard, no homo), it's all good because her mommy loves me and that's what counts LOL.

Today I presented the GLIDES project that I've been working on for a long time and apparently it was pretty good lol. That felt so good to go up there and present that project so smoothly. I really just had a huge weight lifted off of my back.

For those of you who sit by me in class, you probably don't think I have issues, but I do. My family problems are starting to clear up I think and my school stress is falling off. Even though I said it's all good with Victoria, that's the one thing I need to clear up right now and it will all be fine.

Down the Drain

Down it goes. My spring season. And possibly the rest of it. On the first day of spring practice, I reinjured my leg running pass routes and my coach is going to keep me out indefinitely until summer. I felt perfect until one pass, I got overconfident with my leg and sprinted. I got overthrown, laid out for the ball, caught it. While I tried to tuck it away, my leg extended majorly wrong and I felt a huge pop in the back of my leg (I know what happened and I'm kind of hesitant to say but I think it means I refractured the avulsion fracture I had in the back of my thigh). It was kind of disappointing to know that I could really be running on a level I've never ran on, but I'm not going to actually be able to until summer now.

It's coming to the point of outright depression. I just wanted to play, this really isn't funny. I didn't see the need before, but now more than ever, I need to prove that I can be here for this team, I need to show improvement, and I need to be able to crack people and run around like I used to be able to in order to do any of the above. Honestly, I felt like I was rapidly improving before I injured this stupid thing in January. Three times I've injured myself since the beginning of the year. I've played through numerous injuries, but none as bad as this. I just want to be healthy, whatever the cost, I miss being able to run like a normal human being.

Classic Matchup

When two of my favorite teams collided a little less than a year ago, i was sort of frustrated over the prospect of who to pick to win the game. To be perfectly honest, I pick Ohio State (they didn't win, but its okay because both teams are better than UF). LOL I mean obviously UF does not "suck", I will give them that. The same does NOT go for Mr. Timothy Tebow. He will take his little narrow, fake religious, lisp talking self into the NFL and hopefully have his jaw broken (at the very least) lol. Anyways, the video enclosed in my blog this week sort of speaks for itself, PSU-OSU matchup last year, obviously, Penn State won but I can't complain because I love them both.

Good bye.

Percy Harvin smokes weed.

Good bye.

Tebow probably does, too.

Bye.

MY NEW NFL TEAM

Much to my dismay "America's Team" has cut ALL of my favorite players (not even kidding, Terrell Owens, Roy Williams, and Pacman Jones). After much arguing with myself, I have decided it is time to move on and pick a new team. After this year's draft, a few teams have stood out in my mind by selecting more than one of my favorite players. After much heated self debate, my new favorite teams are...drumroll please...

THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (Macho Harris, Lesean McCoy, Cornelius Ingram, Jeremy Maclin)
THE BUFFALO BILLS (idk who they drafted but they picked up T.O. and Dominic Rhodes)
THE N.O. SAINTS (not only did they pick up one of my boys Jabari Greer at DB, they took Malcolm Jenkins to play across from him. Also, the new best Free Safety in the league, Chip Vaughn, is a new addition to the team)
THE DENVER BRONCOS (took my favorite player in the draft Knowshon Moreno and also picked up Alphonso Smith at defensive back)

By far and above, my favorite team this year will be the Philadelphia Eagles. Win, lose, or tie, those are my boys for the year. Dallas now sucks so hey.

Big Blue

This is a highlight film of the school I've been considering pretty seriously, Indiana State. This is a game vs N Iowa. The Sycamores are in the blue (they suck, not for long). Don't laugh but they now are the proud owners of the longest losing streak in NCAA history lol. If I decide to go up there, I would get to room with one of my former teammates here at the Bay, CJ Ullysse. I'd really like to go up there so I could continue the tradition at ISU after my dad's all-star career there. No pressure, but it was an interesting visit up there. Read the blog about that one.

My Visit to Indiana

Last friday, I signed out of school early for my first college football visit. My dad was almost excited as I was because this symbolized my first step towards playing on the next level (possibly at my dad's former college). Terre Haute, Indiana is the location of Indiana State University and thats where I was headed. According to (potential) future teammate CJ Ullysse, this coach had shown interest in bringing me up to play with the Sycamores because of my athletic and academic ability, along with my NFL pedigree. When we touched down in Terre Haute, several things struck me that reminded me that I was not in Weston anymore. For one thing, it was 50 something degrees in the middle of April. The most striking difference was that everyone I met was incredibly friendly. Most people I met were involved in ISU's football program, had seen me play, met my dad, and wanted very badly for me to come up to Indiana.

Not only was this a change of pace for me to be a player who the scouts wanted to come to play football, but I am confident that I could outperform the players at my position on the college level (at least in Indiana). Some of the receivers were converted track runners and had never even played real football before. I have never been cocky, but this trip had me thinking that I may have more potential than I previously thought. As I met more and more people, I realized that this might be a good place for me to be. I could finally be in an environment where I wouldn't have to compete simply to get by, I could focus on my academic and athletic development, possibly even getting exposure enough to play on the next level. If my goal is to play football professionally, the path I have to take is simple. I have a strong work ethic, an extensive NFL pedigree, all I need now is a chance. Indiana State might be that chance for me. Wish me luck.

The Past is Behind Us

As of the last two hours, I've been laying on the couch watching the highlight tape for the 2008 Cypress Bay Football team. It's kind of depressing to see all of the potential we had, but I like that we were able to come together as a family for arguably the best showing in Cypress Bay's history. Not only did we sign the same amount of football players as national champions St. Thomas Aquinas (they recruit) and tied the record for most wins in Cypress Bay's short history. Despite all of the hype and potential for a state title, we tripped at the finish line, losing in the final seconds to Miramar High School and future West Virginia Mountaineers, Eugene Smith and Steadman Bailey. The most memorable thing about this season was how much the boys who I barely knew around this time last year became my brothers by the time we suited up for the first game. I can't count how many days we all talked about quitting but would never actually consider doing so because we loved being there with each other (no homo) and working hard as a unit towards a common goal.

There are some things in life that we never get a second chance at, but this year it will be different. Through the leadership of the new upperclassmen, we will work towards the ultimate goal of a state championship victory.

Congratulations to the graduating seniors.

A Legend Retires

John Madden has had an illustrious career as a television commentator for the National football league. He has recently retired much to my dismay. Even though he had a fair portion of unintelligent things to say (and draw), he was a definite football legend. Not only is he the namesake of the Madden football series, but he has been a lovable (no homo) TV commentator since my childhood. R.I.P. NFL Commentary (Yes, John Madden was dumb as a lamp post, however, I digress).

This song is hard

For everyone who has lost someone in their lives that was a role model to them and was forced to grow up faster than normal, this is a really great song by a group called Hardcounty, an underground duo from Atlanta. Don't look for more music of theirs because this is the only one that I could find that was decent. They have real talent and the emotions in this song are very powerful. Plus, this beat goes hard no homo so listen to the song, actually hear the words they are saying and if you have a reaction, post it. Thank you. Byebye.

Queerterback

It is amazing how QB-centric the NFL has become. I like to see teams where the actual players get the credit. Some quarterbacks, like Ben Roethlisberger and Tony Romo (and our very own Zach Green) have earned my respect. On the other hand, the other quarterbacks in the league get way too much respect. (Eugene Smith is overrated) Sorry for going off topic. Entering this years draft is the pretty boy himself, Mark Sanchez. I really hate to see players who are so centered around their off-field looks (Really? A headband? Come on...). This is the prime example of overrated quarterbacks in their glory. The players who deserve the credit are the skill positions and the players in the trenches. No way on Earth someone as uninvolved in actual physical contact as the quarterback should get this much rep as Sanchez does. When they beat Penn State, the USC queerterback was hailed as a star. If Penn State would have beaten USC, the story would have been written that he made a winning effort in a losing situation. I lose my mind when stuff like this happens. I really want to rip my hair out. He does not lift heavy weight, he does not hit hard, he does not run fast, he doesn't even bring water to the other players. What he does is flick his wrist. Ping pong players do that, too, ya know.

Family Reunion

This summer, for a few days in June, I will be headed to a family reunion in St. Louis, MO. I will be surrounded by professional athletes once again. If you didn't know, my entire family is full of NFL players and tracks stars (minus yours truly). Those athletes aren't even the most important people in the family. The real MVP is my dad's cousin, Larry Thompson, the Deputy Attorney General of THE United States of America. I have no idea how I am going to cope with the fact that I will be in a room surrounded by VIP's. Even my own dad is beginning to pressure me to succeed and live up to my "potential". At the moment, I'm just working on starting at Wide Receiver next year here at the Bay. This obviously was not a problem at all for any of my family members. The last reunion I went to was in Minnesota and I had a great time, even though it was hard talking to people I barely knew. This year, I'm more worried about being able to impress my family members than to make conversation. At the bottom of the page is some of my more well-known family members.

Jackie Robinson (Duh, get black history in your life)
Eric Robinson (My dad, several years in the NFL and USFL, star tailback for the Indiana State Sycamores and later, the Washington Federals. Still holds most rushing records at ISU.)
Mark Robinson (My dad's brother, starring strong safety at Penn State under Joe Paterno. Went on to become one of the best defensive backs in Tampa Bay Bucanneer history)
Bryan Robinson (Currently playing Defensive End for the Arizona Cardinals. Key player on their Super Bowl defensive squad.)
Koren Robinson (Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver with legal trouble in the past. Don't ask.)
Dunta Robinson (Defensive Back for the Houston Texans. No law trouble here.)

Those are just the most famous NFL players. You probably don't even know the rest but they are there.

No Pressure, huh?

MY LEG PART 2 (AFTER MY MRI's)

I got the MRI results on my leg today. Here's my laundry list:
1-Unfused growth place at the level of capital femoral epiphysis
2-Trace amount of hip effusion
3-Partially detached non-displaced avulsion fracture of the left ischial tuberosity with diffuse marrow edema involving the pubic ramus
4-Significant soft tissue edema and swelling within the adjacent musculature
5-Grade-1 muscle strain of the accuctor magnus muscle
6-Moderate tendinosis of the hamstring tendons at the level of attachment to the left ischial tuberosity with adjacent reactice soft tissue edema (Grade-1 strain of the hamstring tendons)
7-(6-7cm) area of prominent bone marrow edema within the distal metadiaphysis of the femus which may represent bone contusion and/or stress-related marrow edema
8-Non-specific join effusion (Small knee effusion)
9-Small nonspecific lymph node in the popliteal region

The doctor said he's never seen someone so messed up in one leg. I can't believe this, I've never been this frustrated in a long time, I just want to run again.

Crisis

This sunday night, I was having some problems with my mom so I decided it would be better if I spent some time at my dad's house. I had my mom drop me off two hours early at work. I fell asleep in the break room until it was time for my shift. After sleeping and colorfully decorating several golf balls, I started my shift, finished up, caught a ride home with my dad's girlfriend. She drove me to my dad's house where I would spend the night alone and I could relax and clear my mind. I realized later that I left my schoolbooks at my moms so I ride my bike almost 8 miles to her house, sneak in, stuff as much stuff as I can in a bookbag, and go out to the garage to get my bike. She catches me and won't let me leave. I leave anyways, walking a few miles before I have my stepmom pick me up. I'm cooking myself dinner when my phone rings. It's my mom and we fall into this huge, long conversation and it was not a good one. After she hangs up, I get another call from a number I don't recognize (it's the police). Apparently, my mom reported me as a missing runaway (after I told her I was fine and I was at my dad's with a ride to school the next day). I had to call my dad's girlfriend over to make it look like she was watching me. While I packed for her house, my dad's girlfriend ended up booking the officer's daughters for 3 separate parties at my dad's spa (hahahahaha). I slept at her house, went into school late because she couldn't take me until after her kids. That was my sunday night and monday morning.

My Leg

Since December, my leg has really been bothering me. One day at work, after seeing me drag my left leg around like a tranquilized duck, a customer (completely out of nowhere) diagnoses me with a pinched sciattica. Not being the ignorant child that most people think I am, I knew how to pronounce the word (hahaha). The sciattica is a nerve that runs down both sides of your back down to your toes. If pinched or inflamed, the most miniscule physical action results in severe physical pain (tell me about it). So I go to work fine, come home with a pinched nerve and no worker's comp. Shweet.

At first, I was afraid to tell my couch. I did not want to be thought of as whining or as injury prone so until it was a serious detriment to my walking (there's no way in hell I can run on this thing), I kept to myself. Until I realized I couldn't even bend far enough to touch my shins. At this point, I nervously told my coach what I was feeling. His reaction was surprising because he seemed more worried than I was. He made numerous appointments for another teammate and I to head to the team chiropractor. For several weeks now, Damien Brown and I have been getting treated for injuries at Perfect Competition 2-3 times per week. This doctor had a different diagnosis than the woman from my job (he thinks I tore my hamstring off of my glute muscle..)As part of my treatment, I receive electrical stimulation on my leg (haha, that part is fun) and this frictional massage treatment on the same areas (haha, that part is not fun). I have been feeling 100%, totally, and completely...the same. I guess ice is my new best friend for now. I need to be healthy ASAP. This really isn't funny, my whole season could be ruined over something I hurt in 2008

Bumpin My Music

The music of this day and age is significantly more disappointing to me than I can bear. It seems like almost everyone has a record deal nowadays. I personally do not even listen to the radio anymore because it is irritating. In my opinion, once a song has been played around 10-20 times on a single station, it is time to put the record on the shelf. However, I find myself enduring the overplayed garbage of the music industry in order to listen to the morning talk shows on channels like Y100 (Elvis Duran), Hot105 (Tom Joyner), and 103.5 (Steve Harvey). The music I listen to is much more recent than that of the radio so if I hear one more Lady Gaga song on the radio, I'm done, I'm taking my ears apart piece by piece.

As a follow-up to this article, here is a list of what's playing on my ipod or on my stereo:
The Soundtrack of Me
1-"I Put On" by Young Jeezy feat. Kanye West (Almost a year old but still raw)
2-"Terminator X to the Edge of Panic" by Public Enemy (my new obsession, no homo of course, is Public Enemy and Kool Moe Dee)
3-"I Go to Work" by Kool Moe Dee (More Old School Rap)
4-"Ignition-Remix" by R. Kelly (just a song that puts me in a good mood, one of my favorites)
5-"Get Fresh" by Iceberg feat. Ransom (swagger)
6-"I'm the Sh*t" by Iceberg (possibly my favorite song)
7-"Gucci Bandanna" by Soulja Boy feat. Gucci Mane and Shawty Lo (raw song, kinda repetitive but I like it)
8-"Stick Drill" by Reggie Cash Flow feat. Piccalo (listen to this one)
9-"Animals" by Nickelback (I listen to this almost everytime I go lift weights or do any kind of workout. I try to listen to all kinds of music so don't make fun of me.)
10-"Stronger" by Kanye West (really old but still raw)
11-"Love Your Way" by Powderfinger (I told you I mix it up)
12-"Don't Wanna Come Down" by Trey Songz (One of my new favorites)

Matt Cassel gets shipped to KC after being designated the franchise player of the NE Patriots
Former UM Star Quarterback Ken Dorsey is cut by the Cleveland Browns

Cash Flow

Good Morning Vietnam. A major complaint of sports fans all over the world is that the athletes that the idolize make too fat of a paycheck. This argument is ignorant and biased. Even athletes that I hate make fair paychecks in my opinion (I am not a laymen such as the reader of this article. I even have numerical statistics to back my correct-ity up). When Babe Ruth was asked by a reporter if he deserved to make more than the President of the United States, he responded by asking, "Can Mr. President hit a baseball?" Professional athletes get paid what they get paid because they specialize in what they do. The pros in any sport is a collection of the very best athletes in their given position (if you were one of the very best at what you did, you would get a fat check, too). One (ignant) might argue that if one does not actually perform academic work, they do not deserve a paycheck. This argument is simply a grasp at acceptance by the mediocre. An athlete should be considered a role model for the youth and adults of the world, based on the mental and physical aspects of what they do* (Do soccer players count? American football players make less than basketball, baseball, soccer, and tennis players individually. Yet they are still singled out as making too much.) Education goes a long way in this particular instance. In a business where millions of dollars worth of admission are collected per sporting event, where would you suggest the money goes? I personally think that it is ignorant to have the money go to the rich, aristocratic, (caucasian) owners of the sports teams and clubs to which these players belong. If the players are the reason that these events draw such interest, they should split the money without giving any to the owners. However, it is in everyone's best interest if the owners, coaches, and other supporting staff get a fair paycheck. If you actually play a sport [or played a sport (on a team)], and you would like to share your opinion, please write it below. Thank you, thank you very much.

Athletes

And the lack of respect for them. At the bottom of the page is a link to a video where i will show you why athletes do not get enough respect. In your comment, I want you to (after watching it once, twice, ten time) carefully analyze and tell me why the stereotype is that black people are fast and white people are not (note the carefully utilized tact). Enjoy. Watch it all the way through (trust me).

Feel the fury of a 350 pound defensive tackle, Richie boy LOL

iHate

I STRONGLY DISLIKE WHEN PERFECTLY GOOD NFL PLAYERS GET CUT, SYMBOLIZING THE END OF THEIR CAREERS (notice the Declaration of Independence-like capitalization...sorta). The NFL has evolved into a business and I do not like it at all. Not to say that it has always been different. My uncle, Mark Robinson was a pro-bowl caliber strong safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for several years before he blew his knee out. He was cut the day after. My father was the same case except he was a running back. I rest my case. If a player makes too much, ask him to take a paycut. If he is a detriment to the team, sit him down and resolve the issue. However, fan favorites should never be released. Maybe traded but to be cut in the NFL is the ultimate insult. I am extremely angry over the events that have occurred over the past few days.

Beautiful Girls

Just for Damien (No homo though, he requested this article even though he didn't vote for it in the poll. However, I digress.)

With that Sean Kingston song playing in my head , I'm off on another literary quest (punctuated by plenty of LOL's). Anyways, back on topic, I'd just like to say that South Florida is home to some of the most beautiful girls on Earth. I'm nervous writing this because of my girlfriend, but if anyone asks, Damien Brown made me write this. I have the shortest attention span in the history of blogging. This better get like 4375923971462187394 comments at least or I quit.

A new paragraph is a new beginning. I want to address the topic of beautiful girls this week because I feel they do not get enough credit. I have a girlfriend, but I have always had a certain appreciation for beautiful women. I do not have eyes that just drift from one girl's hips to another (LOL), but I believe that women have unbelievable "talent" (note the tact). The number one part of a girl is her eyes. A girl is truly beautiful if you can look in her eyes and lose your words. The point of this article was to share my opinions with you on beautiful women. Below I have listed the most beautiful women ever. I'd love to back this up with Logos arguments (hey, Ms. Stoklosa), but I can't. I apologize. Please share your opinions...

10-Marissa Miller (SI)

9-That chick from Rush Hour III

8-Giselle Bundchen

7-Zooey Deschanel (you probably don't know this name, Google is your friend)

6-Scarlett Johansson

5-Katy Perry

4-Rihanna (pre-rock'em sock'em incident)

3-Jessica Alba

2-Shakira (she is beautiful without makeup on, see above photo)

1-Victoria Maria Cabanas :)

K.O.-Rihanna Fans of America Posting

Red-Chris
Blue-Rihanna
JK (insert foot in mouth now)

First of all, I'd like to apologize for my title. It is humorous to me, but you may not find it as amusing. Second of all, I'd like to apologize in advance for the rest of this article. Relax (seriously, please chill your overreactive self down lol) and enjoy.

I have been following the Chris Brown-Rihanna saga as it develops and I have to say that I am really disappointed in males as a whole. It is never acceptable to raise your hand to a woman (let alone one as beautiful as Rihanna, jeez) and to strike her simply speaks volumes about your lack of care for her. Not only does Rihanna need to dump Chris Brown because she is perfectly capable of finding a way better man (not a boy) than him. She should get a free shot or something, I mean come on. I will update this when I get more information but at the moment I don't have too much info. I heard he bit her. Maybe I have been misinformed..

iRep FLA

As a whole, the culture of Florida is very unique because of its melting pot like culture. In this article, I want you to get an accurate view of my view of Florida (from my perspective, of course). Broward is known for its high concentration of people from the West Indies and from Hispanic origins. However, I am not here to talk about the mixture of different ethnicities in Florida. That bores me to the point of snoring. I'm not going to touch that topic.

Musically, Broward and Dade County are two of the hottest places in the country. Rappers like Flo-Rida, Trick Daddy, DJ Khaled (I just threw up in my mouth a little bit), and Rick Ross have all signed major deals and are being marketed to the entire nation. Other equally skilled rappers, such as Iceberg, Ballgreezy, Brisco, and Piccalo (duo of rappers), have had a tough time getting publicity, but will all be prime time soon enough. The musical preference changes the further north you go. However, it is certain that as an unbiased consumer, Broward and Dade county artists will soon get the recognition that they deserve.

As athletes, Florida has been known for the speed and quickness of its athletes. This is a fact because as unprivileged players from areas such as Belle Glades, Pahokee, or Miami-Dade County have all grown up with football backgrounds due to their need to stay out of trouble. The speed of Florida athletes (namely those who play either football or track) is evident by their play and can be further studied on the increasingly popular web resource known as YouTube. That is all I have for today. Please comment on any part of my blog that you please.

GAME OVER (the creativity shines)

Pacman is in a heap of trouble. Blinky and Pinky and all those other blobs have finally caught up to him and he ran out of the big flashing dots to eat. Just kidding, not that Pacman (hahaha I am a comedic genius huh). As a whole, Adam Jones (the corner formerly known as Pacman) has been an example of showmanship and a behavioral issue for team owners throughout his troubled career. Personally, I like Pacman for several reasons. Not only does he wear my jersey #32, but he is a solid defensive back with a playing style that I thoroughly enjoy. He is perfectly capable of playing both sides of the ball as demonstrated by his time with the Tennessee Titans.
Although he is a phenomenal athlete (yes, he did have a mediocre season), his off-field reputation precedes him. In 2007, Pacman was arrested in Las Vegas after a brawl (and later shooting) that left one person paralyzed from the waist down. Two more strip club patrons were shot during the same incident (hahahaha). Outside of having people shot at skin joints, Pacman has had a reputation as a raging alcoholic. Most recently, after a brief stint in rehab, Pacman was released from the Dallas Cowboys. Personally, I disagree with the Cowboys' decision to release Pacman because even though he had a below average season, he did reach out for help with his problems and he was abandoned instead of aided. Here's where I could go all off topic and say how Black Athletes (namely football players) are persecuted today. But I won't because you won't like that. Thank you for your time and goodbye. Beam me up, Scotty. I'm out.

Black History

Happy February to all of my classmates of all ethnic denominations LOL (how many days are in February this year?). February always means a few different things to me, including but not limited to, Valentine's Day, my sister's birthday, and Black History. This year is especially historic for African-Americans everywhere because of the election of Barack Obama to the office of the President of the United States of America. The one thing that I do find strange is that Black History Month is just that. As Morgan Freeman stated in an interview in December 2005, "You're going to relegate my history to a month? I don't want a Black History Month...Black History is American History." However, until US public schools give a more in-depth presentation of black history, Black History Month will and must stay. The fact that Black History is separated from US history is intriguing to me because I find that America prides itself on racial unity and equality. I am not one of those disgruntled Blacks who complains everytime some one refers to us as "they" or "them" or even "those people". I am simply of the belief that even though Black culture is vibrant and unique, Blacks still live voluntarily separate from Whites. I wish to bring an end to the ignorance (my friends are gonna eat this alive). Anyways, I'm just speaking my mind and I wanted to express myself.

PS: Why does it feel like I am forcing my writing lately? It just feels like I am not writing like I have been able to before. I shall try to figure it out.

Alright, I usually do not change my mind about many things. I am pretty set in my ways for the most part. However, the recent events that took place in my old hometown of Tampa, FL have made me reconsider my opinion on who is the best wide receiver in the NFL. Santonio Holmes' recent performance in Super Bowl XLIII has made me want to completely withdraw my statements about Terrell Owens and Larry Fitzgerald. It takes serious guts to perform like this man did on the biggest stage of all. Some consider the Super Bowl to be the biggest TV event of the year. Your newest Super Bowl MVP is from the greatest college in the United States, THE Ohio State University, home of the Buckeyes. There is a new definition of the Immaculate Reception as Santonio Holmes made an incredible catch by keeping control of the ball and both feet in bounds.

Growing up in Belle Glades, FL, Santonio Holmes had difficulty staying out of trouble. He sold drugs to earn money for "snacks and shoes". After the arrest of one of his friends, Santonio laid down his first "profession" and focused more on sports. Santonio won the state championship with Glades Central High School, earning a scholarship to go be a Buckeye at Ohio State University. As a Buckeye, the duo of Santonio Holmes and Ted Ginn Jr. was nearly unstoppable. As a Steeler, Santonio has wowed Pittsburgh fans with his speed and finesse.

As a result of the Arizona Cardinal's loss, all of the bandwagoners who jumped on Larry Fitzgerald as soon as he started doing well have disappeared. I love the loyal fans of the National Football League. Fairweather fans make me laugh.

Larry Fitzgerald

There has been much debate as to who is the best Wide Receiver currently playing in the National Football League. I am here to end the speculation. Larry Fitzgerald is the answer most people would give you if you asked them right now. However, I have to disagree and therefore, based on my disagreement, Mr. Fitzgerald has been demoted from his pedestal of hype. All jokes aside, I have to say that it is impossible to answer such a subjective question because it is completely based upon favoritism and opinion. However, I will try to offer my take on the situation without bias. As a Wide Receiver myself, I can safely say that the major criteria for judging a Wide Receiver should be caliber of quarterback, speed & agility, catching ability, route running, and willingness to block. Larry Fitzgerald is a solid reciver because of his physical style of play and solid hands. It is true that his jumping ability combined with his size make him an impressive specimen, indeed.

If you truly are able to assess the receivers of the league without tainting your assessment with your opinion, you will agree with me when I say that Terrell Owens is the best wide receiver in the National Football League. No homo, but Terrell Owens is truly physically gifted with the body to be the best receiver in the league. He gets extra points for having an inconsistent quarterback in Tony Romo, plus his speed and quickness are for the most part, unmatched among humans. With his incredible size and strength, T.O. has the ability and willingness to throw blocks, showing that he can be an integral part of any offense. The main thing Terrell Owens is known for is his work ethic in the weightroom and on the field. Terrell Owens has worked long and hard and the result is the ability to make acrobatic catches and the thorough knowledge of pass routes that allows him to separate from defensive backs.

Please offer your opinion on the subject if you agree. If you don't agree, please do not bother to respond. Simply degrade yourself for the duration of the day on the grounds that you have no sports knowledge whatsoever. Thank you kindly.
PS-NFL 2008 Statistics
Terrell Owens-69 receptions, 1052 yards, 15.2 avg yards per game, 10 touchdowns, 38 first downs
Larry Fitzgerald-96 receptions, 1431, 14.9 avg yards per game, 12 touchdowns, 66 first downs
The key statistics here are average yards per game, and touchdowns. With only around 2/3 the receptions that Larry Fitzgerald got, T.O. had just about the same amount of scores and he gained more yards per catch than the Cardinals Receiver. Just because Larry Fitzgerald is a bigger part of his team's offense does not mean he is a better receiver. It just means he does not have the supporting cast to back him up.

Indiana State University

As a small school located in the butternut region of the United States, Indiana State University does not recruit far away from the states of Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Therefore, they have not been exposed to the speed and finesse of southern players from states like our very own Florida. As a result, the Indiana State Sycamores have been on a 24 game losing streak as of late. All of that changes over the next two weeks. I know that I have been writing frequently about the visit that Indiana State's head coach is paying to Cypress Bay, but this is a great opportunity for several players. Current players, including myself, will all have an opportunity to impress the coaches and earn a scholarship for signing day of 2010. Former members of the Cypress Bay football team, such as Carlo Ullysse and Anthony Guerra, will sign their official commitments on February 4 of this year. Some of you may think that it is not a great opportunity to attend a division 1aa school on the opposite end of the country, but I beg to differ. If Cypress Bay players can step into starting roles on the team and impress the ISU coaches, current and future players will have an opportunity to play for a successful program that has been made so by the character and athletic ability of the Lightning. As a large school located in one of the most privileged areas in the country, Cypress Bay has never been respected athletically to the extent that we deserve. However, if provided with the opportunity, Cypress Bay will truly demonstrate that we are the hardest working program in the nation and we have the ability to compete on any level.
